I value Daniel and Rex for being what they are to me, which are fellow whiskey enthusiasts that introduced me to Laphroaig, and that they give me something to do for 10 minutes a day. Ultimately, as a whiskey hobbyist, I simply don’t care that much about what people want to do with their money. Well maybe 50 years from now, this program is the one they point to as having made it a real thing. I am sure some people thought of wine sommeliers program(s) at their inception the same as some folks are of the whiskey somm program. On a different note, It does seem like there is a vacuum for this sort of thing. Honestly at the end of the day, how many out of the thousands of their subscribers will go through the program? The fact is it probably won’t affect a majority of the subscribers, and we should just continue on drinking whiskey we enjoy the way we like it.
